My Clarins RE-FRESH Hydrating Beauty Mist | CA$24 for 100ml
The amount of happiness derived from the facial mist step of my skincare routine is a pleasure in itself! I love using facial sprays – it adds moisture and plumpness back to my skin, and if the ingredients are refreshing, then it’s extra luxurious and delightful to use. My Clarins RE-FRESH Hydrating Beauty Mist is also one such delight!
Packaging: The bottle is a sturdy glass bottle which gives it a luxurious feel. The spray is a gentle and evenly spread out mist which literally feels like a gentle cloud on your face.
Ingredients: The ingredients in the RE-FRESH Hydrating Beauty Mist are very impressive – Coconut water, Fig and Acerola seed extracts, and Robinia Flower water. There is no alcohol in the formula, which makes it even more gentle for sensitive skin. The formula is truly hydrating and refreshing. The fragrance is best described as fruity-floral, and is not overpowering.
Performance: The gentle spray makes this facial mist a true pleasure to use – I think I go overboard with it each time. The formula is gentle enough to be sprayed all over the face, including on the eyelids. It’s so refreshing to use, especially on hot summer days if you refrigerate the bottle. I am not a huge fan of the tart note of fragrance on this, but it doesn’t bother me since the fragrance is gone instantly. I would have personally liked it even better if it only smelled floral, but that’s a personal preference.
All in all, I love this product, and would recommend it as a well priced and luxurious product that delivers a burst of happiness in each spray!
My Clarins RE-BOOST Refreshing Moisturizing Cream| CA$30 for 50ml
I am so impressed with the lightweight gel-cream formulation of this cream. This is a perfect lightweight day time cream.
Packaging: The product comes in a glass jar with a lid. It is made of glass which makes it sturdy and luxurious, although not so travel friendly. I prefer scooping out the cream with a little plastic spoon from one of my other facemasks.
Ingredients: The My Clarins RE-BOOST Refreshing Moisturizing Cream is a beautiful blend of Organic Goji Berry, Fig, Acerola seed, Organic Apricot oil, Tamarind pulp acids, and detoxifying flower waters which all comes together in a lightweight formula which delivers a burst of hydration on the skin without being too heavy or sticky.
Performance: I think the RE-BOOST cream is a perfect daytime cream for everyday use. I enjoy using the RE-FRESH mist first after cleansing, followed up with the RE_BOOST cream, and this combination is perfect for my skin to moisturize it in the morning. It’s light and absorbs quickly. I think this product will work well for someone with normal, or combination to oily skin, since it is lightweight.
I love the light fragrance of the cream – it reminds me of roses. I am happy with the price point of this cream as well – it is well worth the money given the fact that it is a vegan formulation with quality ingredients! I have nothing to pick apart for this product – it worked beautifully with my normal-combination skin, and didn’t break me out. I layer up with a sunscreen for daytime, and have no issues. In the summertime, I find this hydrating enough to even use this as my nighttime cream, but it may not be enough when the weather gets drier, or if you have dry skin.
Overall, I am impressed with the My Clarins products that I have tried. I don’t mind fragrance in products as long as it is light and not overbearing. But if you prefer completely fragrance-free products, then these might not be suitable for you. I find that the vegan formulations are effective, and the price point makes it a bit expensive but good value for money. Well done Clarins – I will be trying out more products in the future from the My Clarins line. Do you have any summer time favourites? Let me know in the comments!
